Who here is surprised that the Republican Supreme Court Chief Justice in Alabama, who over-reached in a case in order to declare frozen embryos are children, is also a Christian extremist who wants a theocracy?

Remember that the people running Alabama kept trying to get around a SCotUS redistricting ruling:
https://www.cnn.com/2023/09/26/politics/supreme-court-alabama-redistricting/index.html
I think state leadership was so startled SCotUS ruled against them (https://apnews.com/article/supreme-court-redistricting-race-voting-rights-alabama-af0d789ec7498625d344c0a4327367fe) that they lost their footing.
Anyway, seems like problematic leadership down there.
But then, the overall party is nothing but reactionaries, like this reaction to Alabama by voicing support for IVF:

Even though they are actively pushing the opposite:

So yeah, Republicans should be under scrutiny for yet more hypocrisy:

Though I expect they will just try to wait out the kerfuffle (a very Putin move, BTW).
Yup. Checks out.

At least the GOP is largely on brand for being inconsistent (other than being consistently awful).
@aardrian God fuck these people.
@acarson Unless doing that makes an embryo, because then they own you.
